FAQs
What are the requistes to join?
Anyone can join, but there are academic requirmens imposed by the school district for continued sports participation.
Students are not required to have previous experience to join.
Because wrestling is a sport that involves high impact, there is risk of injury, and it is required that any new wrestler ensure they have proper medical clearance before joining.

All student athletes are required to attend weekly practice and attent all events, regardless if they have a match that day or not.
What does the Booster Club Do?
The NPHS Wrestling Boosters are a group of volunteers who work to support and promote the wrestling program at Newbury Park High School. Our primary goal is to provide financial and logistical support for the wrestling team, which may include fundraising, organizing events, coordinating transportation and accommodations for competitions, and providing equipment and supplies. Additionally, the NPHS Wrestling Boosters work to build community involvement and support for the wrestling program. We provide assistance and resources to student athletes to help them succeed both on and off the mat.
The Wrestling Booster Club is a registered non-profit organization governed by the umbrella NPHS Wrestling Booster organization
Booster members are annually elected and must be the parent of a student wrestler

How much does gear cost?
Current (2025/26) Family Rcomended Donation is $400 per wrestler.
Gear cost +/- $115 per wrestler (depedning on what gear you want and need).
How does away travel work?
NPHS rules are that on any away duals, school transportation is provided. Therefore, all student athletes are required to travel with their team to and from events with their team designated school accomodations. Parents are not permited to take their student athlete or pick them up (leave early) from away events. Sorry, school rules.
When overnight stays are required, the Booster Club covers room and board for the student athletes and coaches. Student athelete accomodations are NOT co-ed, and the teams are segregated at night.
